T hen Gedaliah swore to them and to their men and said unto them, Do not fear the slaves of the Chaldees; dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

Entonces Gedalías les hizo un juramento a todos ellos, y les dijo: «No tengan ningún temor de servir a los caldeos. Habiten el país, y sirvan al rey de Babilonia, y les irá bien».
