و َفِي الصَّباحِ الباكِرِ تَرَكَ داوُدُ الغَنَمَ فِي رِعايَةِ راعٍ آخَرَ. وَأخَذَ الطَّعامَ وَذَهَبَ كَما طَلَبَ إلَيه أبُوهُ. وَأتَى داوُدُ إلَى مِنْطَقَةِ المُعَسكَرِ. وَكانَ الجُنُودُ خارِجينَ لِأخذِ مَواقِعِهمْ فِي القِتالِ عِندَ وُصُول داوُدَ. وَراحَ الجُنُودُ يُطلِقُونَ صَيحاتِ الحَربِ.

David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took and went, as Jesse had commanded him. He came to the place of the wagons, as the army which was going out to the fight shouted for the battle.
