و َحِينَ سَمِعَ الشَّعبُ هَذا الكَلامَ القاسِي، ناحُوا، وَلَمْ يَرتَدِ أحَدٌ جَواهِرَهُ أوْ زِينَتَهُ.

When the people heard this evil news, they mourned: and no one put on his jewelry.
