و َحِينَ سَمِعَ الشَّعبُ هَذا الكَلامَ القاسِي، ناحُوا، وَلَمْ يَرتَدِ أحَدٌ جَواهِرَهُ أوْ زِينَتَهُ.

And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned, and no one put on their ornaments.
