و َأُعطِيَ أبْناءُ مَرارِي، عَشِيرَةً بَعْدَ عَشِيرَةٍ، اثْنَتَي عَشْرَةَ مَدِينَةً مِنْ قَبائِلِ رَأُوبَيْنَ، وَجادَ، وَزَبُولُونَ.

Twelve cities were given, by drawing names, to the sons of Merari, by their families. These cities were given from the families of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
