و َكانَ فِي الأرْضِ كَثِيرُونَ مِنْ غَيرِ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ، مِمَّنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِيعُوا القَضاءَ عَلَيْهِمْ. فَكانَ هُناكَ أمُّورِيُّونَ، وَحِثِّيُّونَ، وَفِرِزِّيُّونَ، وَحَوِيُّونَ، وَيَبُوسِيُّونَ.
