A nd David went forth; whithersoever Saul sent him he prospered; and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul's servants.

Tudo o que Saul lhe ordenava fazer, Davi fazia com tanta habilidade que Saul lhe deu um posto elevado no exército. Isso agradou a todo o povo, bem como aos conselheiros de Saul.
