A nd Gideon said to God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once! Let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it, I pray thee, be dry upon the fleece only, and upon all the ground let there be dew.

Atunci Ghedeon I-a zis din nou lui Dumnezeu: „Să nu te aprinzi de mânie împotriva mea, dar voi mai vorbi încă o dată! Te rog, îngăduie-mi să mai încerc o dată semnul cu învelitoarea! Fă ca numai învelitoarea să rămână uscată şi tot pământul să se acopere cu rouă!“
