R ejoice not, Israel, exultingly, as the peoples; for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved harlot's hire upon every corn-floor.

يا أُمَّةَ إسْرائِيلَ، لا تَفرَحِي كَثِيراً كَالأُمَمِ الأُخرَى، وَذَلِكَ لأنَّكِ زَنَيتِ مُبتَعِدَةً عِن إلَهِكِ، وَقَد استَمتَعتِ بِإيفاءِ نُذُورِكِ للآلِهَةِ المُزَيَّفَةِ فِي كُلِّ بَيدَرِ قَمحٍ.
