a s the days on which the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month that was turned to them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day; that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.

como días en que los judíos estuvieron en paz con sus enemigos, y como el mes en que la tristeza se trocó en alegría, y el luto en festividad; que los convirtieran en días de banquete y de gozo, en día de enviar regalos cada uno a su vecino, y dádivas a los pobres.
