A nd Midianitish men, merchants, passed by; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty silver-pieces; and they brought Joseph to Egypt.

Când s-au apropiat negustorii midianiţi, fraţii săi l-au scos pe Iosif afară din fântână şi l-au vândut ismaeliţilor cu douăzeci de şecheli de argint. Aceştia l-au dus pe Iosif în Egipt.
