N ow therefore, my lord, as Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing Jehovah hath withholden thee from bloodguiltiness, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now therefore let thine enemies, and them that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.

Ora dunque, mio signore, com’è vero che vive il Signore e che anche tu vivi, il Signore ti ha impedito di spargere sangue e di farti giustizia con le tue proprie mani. I tuoi nemici e quelli che vogliono fare del male al mio signore siano come Nabal!
