Joshua 10:28 ~ Iosua 10:28

A nd Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof: he utterly destroyed them and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining; and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done unto the king of Jericho.

În aceeaşi zi, Iosua a cucerit Makkeda şi a trecut-o prin ascuţişul sabiei. L-a ucis pe regele ei şi i-a nimicit cu desăvârşire pe toţi oamenii care erau în ea, nelăsând nici un supravieţuitor. I-a făcut regelui din Makkeda la fel cum îi făcuse regelui din Ierihon.
