A nd straightway the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word, how that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

E subito, per la seconda volta, il gallo cantò. Allora Pietro si ricordò della parola che Gesù gli aveva detta: «Prima che il gallo abbia cantato due volte, tu mi rinnegherai tre volte». E si abbandonò al pianto.
