J ehovah is slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.

Domnul este încet la mînie şi bogat în bunătate, iartă fărădelegea şi răsvrătirea; dar nu ţine pe cel vinovat drept nevinovat, şi pedepseşte fărădelegea părinţilor în copii pînă la al treilea şi la al patrulea neam.
