T here are certain Jews whom thou hast appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Dar sunt nişte iudei, pe care i-ai numit în slujba de administratori ai provinciei Babilonului, şi anume Şadrak, Meşak şi Abed-Nego, oameni care nu ţin seama deloc de tine, împărate! Ei nu slujesc zeilor tăi şi nu se închină statuii de aur pe care ai ridicat-o.“
