T he Ammonites’ king replied to the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land when they came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon even to Jabbok and to the Jordan; now therefore, restore those lands peaceably.

Regele amoniţilor le-a răspuns solilor lui Iefta: – Pentru că atunci când venea din Egipt, Israel mi-a luat ţara, de la Arnon până la Iabok şi până la Iordan. Acum, înapoiază-mi-o pe cale paşnică!
