W hen the season came, he sent a bond servant to the tenants, that they might give him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the tenants beat ( thrashed) him and sent him away empty-handed.

Al tempo del raccolto, mandò un servo da quei vignaioli perché gli dessero la sua parte del frutto della vigna; ma i vignaioli, battutolo, lo rimandarono a mani vuote.
