W oe to you, scribes and Pharisees, pretenders (hypocrites)! For you swallow up widows’ houses and for a pretense to cover it up make long prayers; therefore you will receive the greater condemnation and the heavier sentence.

¡Ay de ustedes, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas, que devoran las casas de las viudas, aun cuando por pretexto hacen largas oraciones! Por eso recibirán mayor condenación.
