T hree gates: one gate of Reuben, one gate of Judah, one gate of Levi, the gates of the city being called after the names of the tribes of Israel;

وَتُسَمَّى بَوّاباتُ المَدِينَةِ بِأسماءِ قَبائِلِ إسْرائِيلَ. وَبَوّاباتُ الجِهَةِ الشَّمالِيَّةِ هِيَ رَأُوبَيْنَ وَيَهُوذا وَلاوِي.
