F or He established a testimony (an express precept) in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, commanding our fathers that they should make known to their children,

قَطَعَ عَهداً مَعَ يَعْقُوبَ. وَضَعَ شَرِيعَةً فِي إسْرائِيلَ. أمَرَ آباءَنا بِأنْ يُعَلِّمُوها لِأبنائِهِمْ.
