W ho hitherto was assigned to the king’s east side gate. They were the gatekeepers of the camp of the Levites.

وَكانُوا سابِقاً يَقِفُونَ عِنْدَ بَوّابَةِ المَلِكِ إلَى الشَّرْقِ. كانَ هَؤُلاءِ بَوّابِي مُخَيَّماتِ اللّاوِيِّينَ.
