A nd Abner sent messengers to David where he was, saying, Whose is the land? Make your league with me, and my hand shall be with you to bring all Israel over to you.

وَأرْسَلَ أبْنَيْرُ رُسُلاً إلَى داوُدَ وَقالَ لَهُ: «مَنْ يَنْبَغِي أنْ يَحْكَم هَذِهِ البِلادَ؟ اقْطَعْ عَهْداً مَعِي، وَسَأُساعِدُكَ لِتُصْبحَ حاكِمَ إسْرائِيلَ كُلِّها.»
