H e created them male and female and blessed them and named them Adam at the time they were created.

وَخَلَقَ اللهُ النَّاسَ ذَكَراً وَأُنْثَى. وَسَمّاهُمْ أُناساً يَوْمَ خَلَقَهُمْ.
