N ë fakt Herodi vet kishte dhënë urdhër të arrestohej Gjoni dhe të mbahej i lidhur në burg për shkak të Herodiadës, gruas së Filipit, vëllait të tij, sepse e kishte marrë për grua.

For Herod himself had sent and seized John and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, because he had married her.
