B ijtë e Rubenit, të parëlindurit të Izraelit. Ai ishte me të vërtetë i parëlinduri, por me qenë se kishte përdhosur shtratin e të atit, parëbirnia iu dha bijve të Jozefit, birit të Izraelit; kështu gjenealogjia nuk jepet në bazë të parëbirnisë.

Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel. For was the eldest, but because he polluted his father’s couch his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel; so the genealogy is not to be reckoned according to the birthright.
