M breti u dha këtë urdhër Joabit, Abishait dhe Itait: "Për hirin tim, silluni me kujdes me të riun Absalom!". Tërë populli e dëgjoi kur mbreti e dha këtë urdhër të gjithë komandantëve lidhur me Absalomin.

And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.
