F or if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

Denn so sie entflohen sind dem Unflat der Welt durch die Erkenntnis des HERRN und Heilandes Jesu Christi, werden aber wiederum in denselben verflochten und überwunden, ist mit ihnen das Letzte ärger geworden denn das Erste.
