P ois rasgara Israel da casa de Davi; e eles fizeram rei a Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, o qual apartou Israel de seguir o Senhor, e os fez cometer um grande pecado.

For He tore Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam son of Nebat king. And Jeroboam drew and drove Israel away from following the Lord and made them sin a great sin.
