A nd David saith unto Abner, `Art not thou a man? and who like thee in Israel? but why hast thou not watched over thy lord the king? for one of the people had come in to destroy the king, thy lord.

– Ce bărbat eşti tu? i-a zis David lui Abner. Cine este ca tine în Israel? De ce nu ai vegheat asupra stăpânului tău, regele, pentru că cineva din popor a venit ca să-l ucidă?
