A nd Jehovah saith unto Samuel, `Look not unto his appearance, and unto the height of his stature, for I have rejected him; for not as man seeth -- for man looketh at the eyes, and Jehovah looketh at the heart.'

Însă Domnul i-a zis: „Nu te uita la înfăţişarea sau la înălţimea staturii lui, pentru că l-am respins, căci Domnul nu se uită la ceea ce se uită omul. Omul se uită la înfăţişare, pe când Domnul se uită la inimă.“
