a nd the weight of the rings of gold which he asked is a thousand and seven hundred of gold, apart from the round ornaments, and the drops, and the purple garments, which on the kings of Midian, and apart from the chains which on the necks of their camels,

The gold objects Gideon had asked for were as heavy as 1, 700 pieces of gold money. He took the objects and purple clothing worn by the kings of Midian also. And he took the religious objects that were around the camels’ necks.
