a nd they turn back unto Joshua, and say unto him, `Let not all the people go up; let about two thousand men, or about three thousand men, go up, and they smite Ai; cause not all the people to labour thither; for they few.'

Poi tornarono da Giosuè e gli dissero: «Non è necessario che salga tutto il popolo; ma salgano un due o tremila uomini ad attaccare Ai; non far affaticare tutto il popolo là, perché quei di Ai sono in pochi».
