a nd if wrong in your eyes to serve Jehovah -- choose for you to-day whom ye do serve; -- whether the gods whom your fathers served, which beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorite in whose land ye are dwelling; and I and my house -- we serve Jehovah.'

E se vi pare cattiva cosa servire l'Eterno, scegliete oggi chi volete servire, o gli dèi che servirono i vostri padri di là dal fiume, o gli dèi degli Amorei, nel cui paese voi abitate; quanto a me e alla mia casa, serviremo l'Eterno».
