t hat through two immutable things, in which impossible for God to lie, a strong comfort we may have who did flee for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before,

affinché per mezzo di due cose immutabili, nelle quali è impossibile che Dio abbia mentito, avessimo un grande incoraggiamento noi, che abbiamo cercato rifugio nell'afferrare saldamente la speranza che ci è stata messa davanti.
