T hus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of his pursuing with a sword his brother, And he hath destroyed his mercies, And tear perpetually doth his anger, And his wrath -- he hath kept it for ever,

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: «Pentru trei nelegiuiri ale Edomului, ba chiar pentru patru, nu-Mi voi retrage mânia, pentru că l-a urmărit cu sabia pe fratele său, înăbuşindu-şi îndurarea, pentru că s-a lăsat mereu condus de mânie şi nu şi-a înăbuşit furia.
