I opened to my beloved, But my beloved withdrew -- he passed on, My soul went forth when he spake, I sought him, and found him not. I called him, and he answered me not.

Am deschis iubitului meu... dar iubitul meu se întorsese şi plecase. Sufletul meu se topea când vorbea. L-am căutat, dar nu l-am găsit. L-am strigat, dar nu mi-a răspuns.
