T hou dost not bow thyself to them, nor serve them: for I, Jehovah thy God, a zealous God, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third, and on the fourth, of those hating Me,

“Do not worship them or work for them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. I punish the children, even the great-grandchildren, for the sins of their fathers who hate Me.
