a nd king Rehoboam maketh in their stead shields of brass, and hath given a charge on the hand of the heads of the runners who are keeping the opening of the house of the king;

Then King Rehoboam made bronze shields in their place, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who guarded the doorway of the king’s house.
