t hese they who have passed over the Jordan in the first month, -- and it is full over all its banks -- and cause all the valley to flee to the east and to the west.

These are the ones who crossed the Jordan in the first month when the water was flowing over its sides. They drove away all those in the valleys, to the east and to the west.
