A nd Absalom saith -- and all the men of Israel -- `Better the counsel of Hushai the Archite than the counsel of Ahithophel;' and Jehovah willed to make void the good counsel of Ahithophel for the sake of Jehovah's bringing unto Absalom the evil.

Absalom e tutti gli uomini d'Israele dissero: «Il consiglio di Hushai, l'Arkita è migliore di quello di Ahithofel». L'Eterno infatti aveva stabilito di rendere inefficace il buon consiglio di Ahithofel, per far cadere la rovina sopra Absalom.
