H e who brought the news answered, “Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there has been also a great slaughter among the people. Your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and God’s ark has been captured.”

Cel care aducea veştile a răspuns: – Israel a fugit dinaintea filistenilor şi oştirea a suferit o mare înfrângere. De asemenea, cei doi fii ai tăi, Hofni şi Fineas, au murit, iar Chivotul lui Dumnezeu a fost capturat.
