T he men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul had adjured the people, saying, “Cursed is the man who eats any food until it is evening, and I am avenged of my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

Gli uomini d’Israele in quel giorno erano sfiniti; ma Saul fece fare al popolo questo giuramento: «Maledetto l’uomo che toccherà cibo prima di sera, prima che io mi sia vendicato dei miei nemici». Così nessuno del popolo toccò cibo.
