A fter they had hoisted it up, they used cables to help reinforce the ship. Fearing that they would run aground on the Syrtis sand bars, they lowered the sea anchor, and so were driven along.

Den hoben wir auf und brauchten die Hilfe und unterbanden das Schiff; denn wir fürchteten, es möchte in die Syrte fallen, und ließen die Segel herunter und fuhren also.
