T hen Zeresh his wife and all his friends said to him, “Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on it. Then go in merrily with the king to the banquet.” This pleased Haman, so he had the gallows made.

Zéresch, sa femme, et tous ses amis lui dirent: Qu'on prépare un bois haut de cinquante coudées, et demain matin demande au roi qu'on y pende Mardochée; puis tu iras joyeux au festin avec le roi. Cet avis plut à Haman, et il fit préparer le bois.
