B ut after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven to wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.

Avendo però i nostri padri provocato ad ira il Dio del cielo, egli li diede in mano di Nebukadnetsar, re di Babilonia, il Caldeo, il quale distrusse questo tempio e deportò il popolo a Babilonia.
