J oash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash the son of Jehoahaz, at Beth Shemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

Ioas, împăratul lui Israel, a luat la Bet-Şemeş pe Amaţia, împăratul lui Iuda, fiul lui Ioas, fiul lui Ioahaz. L -a adus la Ierusalim, şi a făcut o spărtură de patru sute de coţi în zidul Ierusalimului, dela poarta lui Efraim pînă la poarta unghiului.
