J ehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t kill her in the Yahweh’s house.”

Ma il sacerdote Jehoiada fece uscire i capi di centinaia che comandavano l'esercito e disse loro: «Fatela uscire di mezzo alle file, e chiunque la segue sia ucciso di spada!». Il sacerdote infatti aveva detto: «Non permettete che sia uccisa nella casa dell'Eterno».
