T hen the Spirit came on Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said, “We are yours, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse. Peace, peace be to you, and peace be to your helpers; for your God helps you.” Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

Allora lo Spirito rivestì Amasai, capo dei trenta, che esclamò: «Noi siamo tuoi, o Davide; e siamo con te, o figlio d’Isai! Pace, pace a te e a coloro che ti soccorrono, poiché il tuo Dio ti soccorre!» Allora Davide li accolse e li nominò capi delle sue truppe.
