T hen Abner was very angry about Ishbosheth’s words, and said, “Am I a dog’s head that belongs to Judah? Today I show kindness to Saul’s house your father, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David; and yet you charge me today with a fault concerning this woman!

Abner si adirò moltissimo per le parole di Is-Boset e rispose: «Sono forse una testa di cane di quelli di Giuda? Finora ho dato prova di lealtà verso la casa di Saul tuo padre, verso i suoi fratelli e i suoi amici, non ti ho dato nelle mani di Davide, e proprio oggi tu mi rimproveri lo sbaglio commesso con questa donna!
